I’m a Vancouver-based, outdoors enthusiast. When I’m not at work, I’m most likely on the trail. I live for hiking. My hiking philosophy can be summed up with the following words: the steeper, the better.
I took up trail running many, many (MANY) years ago as a way of covering more distance in a shorter period of time. After a couple years of chronic ankle and sacroiliac injuries, I gave up trail running and returned to the less punishing world of hiking.
I started this blog as a way of chronicling my ultra trail running training. As tends to happen, the universe had other plans for me. My ultra training spurred on an old running injury and has kept me from achieving my goals of completing an ultra (at least for now), but I’ve kept chugging along in this space with ramblings about everything from fitness, to injury recovery, to candy and cake. Though these topics don’t fit into a tidy category, they reflect me perfectly as a person with a multitude of interests and passions who won’t fit nicely into a box.
